You are invited to register for TeamCalifornia's Annual Meet the Consultants Forum on California's Central Coast.

 

You will be joined by national and international Site Location Consultants all located outside of California, but all running current projects in California.

Bill Luttrell 
Senior Locations Strategist, Werner Enterprise’s Werner Global Logistics 

Mr. Luttrell has 28 years experience in the corporate real estate and economic development industries. He has assisted major corporations such as BP, Disney, Exterran, Fidelity Investments, Fujitsu, GM, HP, Merck, Monster.com, NEC, Nestle, Panasonic, Solvay, Texaco and Western Digital. He has managed over 180 projects in over 40 countries. At Werner he has responsibility for Global Location consulting with a specialization in both domestic and cross-border, international projects, particularly in manufacturing and warehouse distribution and related supply-chain analysis. Prior to joining Werner Enterprises Mr. Luttrell held various  positions at  Jones Lang LaSalle's Strategic Consulting Group in San Francisco, World Bank Group in Washington, DC,  Deloitte & Touche Fantus in Los Angeles, and John Brown Engineering and Construction, where he was stationed in their Tokyo, Moscow, Houston, Chicago and Kuala Lumpur offices.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

As Managing Director of Strategic Consulting with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, Mr. Thakur is focused on market entry strategy, domestic and global location strategy, footprint optimization, and real estate advisory services.  He has managed and completed location strategy and site selection engagements for clients across many industries including manufacturing, financial services, life sciences, back office and call centers, and head quarters in North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.  Mr. Thakur is also engaged in developing target industry and business attraction strategies for economic development agencies across the United States.

Prior to joining NGKF, Mr. Thakur was a management consultant in Deloitte’s Global Strategy & Operations practice. 

Other past experience includes workplace strategy, real estate portfolio optimization, and enterprise cost reduction related to real estate assets and workforce.  Mr. Thakur worked with leading Architecture firms such as HOK and SOM in their workplace consulting practices.  Prior to becoming a consultant, Mr. Thakur had a career as an architect and urban planning consultant and managed large commercial mixed use development projects in South and Southeast Asia. Mr. Thakur’s skills include site evaluation, field due diligence, development feasibility, financial modeling, labor market and workforce analysis, and process design and improvement.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Robert Hess is an executive managing director in Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Global Corporate Services practice and is responsible for strategy development, quality assurance and business development for its consulting and industry/specialty group initiatives. He is a preeminent, sought-after service provider and respected leader in corporate location strategy and site selection across multiple industries and asset types in North America. He has conducted over 250 assignments on a global basis, including major CAPX projects in Asia, Europe and Mexico. 

Other past experience includes his role as a partner with Deloitte & Touche for 18 years in its Fantus Location Strategies service line, a specialty consulting practice known for industry leading strategic facility planning, location strategy, site selection, incentive negotiations and corporate real estate advisory services. 

Aside from his facility location strategy core competencies, other strategy and operations experience includes supply chain planning, distribution network optimization, manufacturing rationalization and consolidation, relocation feasibility, strategic cost reduction, large capital investment program management, commercial and industrial site evaluation and due diligence methods, detailed labor market/workforce analysis and complex financial incentive negotiations.

He attended Northwestern University in Chicago completing executive development programs in Global Supply Chain Management and Factory Physics/Lean Manufacturing, MIT for Creative Problem Solving/System Dynamics and leadership development courses at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

Mark A. Beattie
Principal

Mr. Beattie is a Principal with Hickey & Associates, LLC, a global site selection and public incentives firmed based in Minneapolis, MN. 

Mr. Beattie has over thirty five years of experience working in the corporate sector managing real estate, facilities, purchasing and staff management operations. He has extensive experience in long-range strategic planning for the acquisition, usage and disposition of domestic and international real estate assets, site selection and public incentives management. 

He has worked for a number of industrial manufacturing companies including the last 30 years at 3M Company (retired 2009), a US based, multinational company with 800+ locations worldwide and over 60 million square feet of manufacturing, warehouse/distribution, R&D and office space. 

Mr. Beattie has been an active member of CoreNet Global and the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC). He has served on the Board of Directors for IDRC (now CoreNet), the Executive Board of the Metro East Development Partnership in St. Paul, MN, and the advisory board of the Minnesota Real Estate Journal. He currently serves as President & Board Chair for The Light Factory: Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film in Charlotte, NC and on the Board of Directors of the Myers Park City Homes Home Owners Association.

Tim Feemster
Senior Managing Director

Over 40 years of experience have provided Tim Feemster, Senior Managing Director, Newmark Grubb, with a variety of problem solving situations in real estate, transportation, logistics, and distribution. Tim is quoted frequently in the industry press and makes over 20 presentations a year to professional organizations.

Before joining Newmark Grubb, Feemster was a senior manager in three manufacturing companies, a general manager, a consultant, an executive in two third party logistics providers, and a Practice Group leader. Feemster has been responsible for transportation & warehouse operations, real estate site selection, economic development strategy consulting, strategic planning, and lean quality management.

Feemster holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a B.A. in Mathematics from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Feemster is an active member in the Warehouse Education and Research Council (WERC.org), where he is Past President; Council Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP.org); Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC); Intermodal Association of North America (IANA.org), International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC.org). Peter M. Pellerito

Peter M. Pellerito is the managing director of PMP Public Affairs Consulting (PMP) in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and Washington DC. He is also senior policy consultant and former interim vice president for state government relations and alliance development for the Washington DC-based Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO).

Mr. Pellerito has co-authored seventeen reports and best practices guides on bioscience/life science economic development legislation and business development marketing in Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Michigan, Ohio, Nebraska, North Carolina, and South Dakota. He is also a contributing author/editor to the five bi-ennial Battelle/BIO national publications focusing on state initiatives that support bioscience commercialization of research technologies, and public policy. He sits on several university-industry committees that focus on technology transfer and commercialization efforts for universities and community college workforce development.

In addition, PMP currently acts as chief economic development advisor to the Research Triangle Regional Partnership and the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina.

His hands-on industry experience includes the position of senior director of government and public affairs for Shaman Pharmaceuticals and policy consultant to Genentech, Inc of South San Francisco, California. Mr. Pellerito formulated bioscience industry attraction and retention strategies for the California HealthCare Institute, San Mateo County, and the City of South San Francisco.

Mr. Pellerito was previously Director of State Relations and Assistant Vice President for Government Relations at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and was responsible for managing the public affairs issues unit for the university’s central administration during his tenure from 1978-1995.

He holds degrees from California State University, Northridge, and Michigan State University.
